Chilling at Cheronissos & Vathi Beaches on Sifnos Island - Greece (Part 5)
Cheronissos/Khersonissos Beach is located in an inlet on the Northwest tip of Sifnos Island and has been described as “Sifnos’ most idyllic beach” and I think they might be right - check it out below:
The next photo has an arrow pointing to our boat in case you couldn’t see it in the above shot (joke):
Cheronissos/Khersonissos beach was our next stop after our overnight stay in Livadi Marina, Serifos Island.
Leaving Livadi behind:
When we got to Cheronissos beach we didn’t waste any time getting into the (once again) amazingly clear blue water to cool down on what was another hot HOT day!
As you have probably seen from my photos, Cheronissos beach is really small but it does have a restaurant, mini-market and a pottery store (which some of our group visited and purchased from). As we had planned ahead, we were all setup to have lunch onboard so we did our usual relaxing, swimming, napping, reading routine until we were ready to eat. A while later, it was time to ‘haul anchor’ and begin our journey to Vathi Beach where we planned to stay overnight.
We arrived at Vathi Beach around 6pm and took in our new picturesque surroundings. Vathi Beach has a sheltered harbour making it the perfect place to stay on anchor overnight and that is exactly what we did.
Some time later we did a few dinghy trips to shore to find a restaurant for dinner - “here we come” pictured below:
The arrow below is pointing a gorgeous turquoise boat that you will see pop up in my photos again on this trip!
We used this sign to find a restaurant for dinner:
And we were lucky to get a table in restaurant Okeanida, everywhere was SO busy and as expected there are not that many options in this small beachside village.
This locally owned and operated family restaurant was surprisingly good and everyone was happy with their meal and their house wine wasn’t too bad either:
After dinner it was back to the boat and off to bed for us.
The following morning around 10.30am we again took the dinghy to the pier:
We had breakfast sitting in the shade in Grigoris where the food was good but the setting was even better:
After breakfast we picked up some fresh bread and other essentials and then at last it was time to swim and cool down before we had to be on our way. We were off to a new island - Kimolos.
