Magical Moments Exploring Milos Island - Greece (Part 7)

After waving goodbye to Psathi on Kimolos Island we made our way to our sixth island of this trip, Milos Island. Our first stop on Milos Island was at this secret little cove for some swimming - I think this was the nicest water of our trip thus far:

We had an eventful few hours in the “secret spot”. In addition to swimming, SUP time and eating a delicious lunch onboard, one of our group lost and then found (hurrah!) one of her diamond earrings in the sea. The sea was so transparent one of our group spotted the earring sitting on the sandy sea bed below the boat and another group member dived down and retrieved it. We had just about recovered from the diamond earring saga when the drone crashed into the cliff side and landed in a sea-salt puddle (not good). Luckily, as the crash happened close to where we were anchored we were able to recover the drone easily enough and later get the footage off it but alas the drone never flew again!

With the “sea toys” packed up we headed off to Agios Sostis Beach where we dropped anchor for the night.

And of course we caught sunset there:

Soon it was time to fire up the dinghy and head to land to grab some dinner:

In the photos below you can see one of our group driving the dinghy back out from the beach to our catamaran to collect the rest of our group for dinner:

The small beach area really only had one restaurant open so that is where we ate, it was called Muses and it was just a short walk up some concrete steps from the beach:

There was a lovely view from up there:

After dinner we once again did two dinghy trips back to the catamaran. Boarding the dinghy was hilarious due to the waves and it resulted in wet arses, legs and backs but at least the water was a pleasant temperature!

The following morning we woke up to another fantastic day and swimming was the first thing on our “to do” list:

After breakfast on board we left Agios Sostis:

We enjoyed the beautiful scenery of Milos Island’s coastline as we made our way to our next stop, Kleftiko which is located in the southwest of Milos Island:

Kleftiko boasts more of the crystal clear turquoise water that we have come to associate with Greece and we couldn’t wait to jump in. Kleftiko is known for its caves and eye-catching rock arches. As you can see there were some other tourist boats here at the same time as us:

You can swim/kayak into this cave (where the arrow is pointing below) but be sure to warn any small boats entering the cave that you are there. Its a little bit dangerous as, as you would expect, there isn’t great visibility in a dark cave:

After a few hours in Kleftiko we headed to Adamas/Adamantas where we got a mooring spot at the bustling marina. Adamas was so busy, there were lots of people coming off the ferries and tourist boats and so the restaurants that lined the waterfront were reaping the benefits.

Our two captains had decided that we would only stay in Adamas for a few hours, enough time to stock up on supplies and have dinner and then be on our way, travelling overnight to get ahead of some bad weather that was fast approaching. Having walked around Adamas and gotten the necessities we ate an enjoyable dinner in Restaurant Volta on the marina:

From our brief time in Adamas, I think we all would have happily stayed overnight and would have loved the opportunity to do some shopping as there were lots of lovely boutiques (although most were not open as it was a Sunday when we were there) so perhaps we will go back to Adamas again in 2025 for a proper stay!

We departed Adamas marina at around 10:45pm and headed for our seventh island of the trip, Hydra/Idra Island arriving there about 6am.
