Top New True Crime Podcasts of March 2026
I realise that I am WAY behind on my true crime podcast blogs! I have been listening to loads as always, I just haven’t gotten around to actually writing about them. In an attempt to catch up I am going to keep my descriptions here short and sweet - trust me when I say that every true crime podcast on all/any of my lists are worth a listen!
1. Expanse: The Nannup Four - Hosted By Dominique Bayens - ABC Australia.
Expanse: The Nannup Four investigates the 2007 disappearance of four individuals (three adults and one child) from their isolated farmhouse in the Western Australian town of Nannup. Over six episodes and an additional four bonus episodes, the host digs deep into this mysterious and sad story to try to find out what really happened:
“Expanse: The Nannup Four explores the dark secrets, hard questions and lost chances around one of Australia’s most baffling missing persons cases.” (Source here).
This is definitely a binge worthy true crime podcast and luckily for you all episodes are already available so you can do just that!
2. Crime Next Door: The Anglesey Vampire Killer - Hosted By Meic Parry - BBC Sounds.
This shocking true crime podcast focuses on the 2001 murder of ninety year old Mabel Leyshon. The brutal murder of Mabel in her own home, on the Welsh island of Ynys Môn (Anglesey), shocked everyone but there were far more shocking revelations still to come:
“The 2001 murder of 90-year-old Mabel Leyshon at her home on the Welsh island of Ynys Môn (Anglesey) by an assailant who drank her blood made once-friendly neighbours suddenly fearful of one another.” (Source here).
This true crime podcasts examines how:
“… a 17-year-old vampire-obsessed student took the life of 90-year-old, Mabel Leyshon.” (Source here).
All seven episodes are out now.
3. Fraudacious - Hosted By Vicky Baker - Novel & BBC Studios.
In the true crime podcast Fraudacious boutique owner Bridget Hutchcroft tells the story of how she became a victim of a prolific con-artist named Ekaterina Barrett. This is one wild story which takes us all over the world, chasing Barrett and her trail of destruction and debt.
You know how much I enjoy con-artist true crime podcasts and this podcast did not disappoint.
All six episodes are out now so get downloading and get listening!
4. Love Trapped: Owens V. Echard - Hosted By Stephani Young - iHeartPodcasts & Glass Podcasts.
I first became familiar with this true crime story back in May 2025 when I listened to the true crime podcast entitled Pretend: The Internet Saves the Bachelor which was a two-part series about former Bachelor Clayton Echard and his unfortunate dealings with Laura Owens. So, when I saw there was another, more in-depth true crime podcast about this same topic I was on it.
In Love Trapped we not only hear more about Clayton’s experience but we also hear from many other victims of Laura Owens. There is SO much information in this podcast and its still being updated now as there are new developments in the case (I don’t want to give any spoilers).
If you like a con-artist story and want a true crime podcast that leaves no stone unturned then this is the true crime podcast for you.
There are twelve episodes available now, as well as a few additional bonus episodes (and potentially more to come). So, clear your diary as once you start listening you definitely won’t want to stop.
5. Love Bombed: Wife Hunter - Hosted By Vicky Pattison - BBC Local Radio.
Series four of Love Bombed: Wife Hunter tells the story of a prolific “Lovebomber” and fraudster Raymond McDonald. I seem to have a lot of scammer/con-artists on this months list! We hear from some of McDonald’s innocent victims and his conning/cunning methods quickly become apparent.
If you are tight on time then this is a great true crime podcast option as each episode is only around fifteen minutes long. All six episodes of this latest series are out now.
I have actually listened to all the other series of the Love Bombed true crime podcast, but I have neglected to include them in previous true crime blogs. So, if you like this latest series be sure to check out the previous series, Who is James Scott? (Series 1), Who is Alex? (Series 2) and Love Bombed: Betrayed (Series 3).
6. Trace of Suspicion - Hosted By Josh Mankiewicz - Dateline & NBC News.
Josh Mankiewicz is back with another true crime series. This time he is investigating the suspicious death of a twenty-three year old marine named Todd Sommer:
“After seemingly healthy 23-year-old Marine Todd Sommer dies unexpectedly, his widow Cindy’s lavish spending, cosmetic surgery, and wild partying raise investigators’ suspicions. They accuse her of poisoning him with arsenic for his life insurance, setting off a criminal case that takes a stunning turn.” (Source here).
We hear directly from the woman at the centre of this case Cindy Sommer, the person accused of murdering her husband, which makes for super interesting listening!
All six episodes are available now.
7. Someone Knows Something: The Jaclyn Ferland-Smith Case (Season 10) - Hosted By David Ridgen - CBC.
Having now listened to all six (currently) available episodes of this true crime podcast, I still can’t “pick a side” with regards to this mysterious disappearance. Was it a willing/pre-planned disappearance? or a forced “disappearance” to cover up a sinister crime?
Jaclyn Ferland-Smith disappeared on the 17th of August 2021 from her home in Playas del Coco, Costa Rica. Jaclyn was originally from Canada but had moved her life to Costa Rica along with her husband Sebastien Farland.
On the night of her disappearance Jaclyn seemingly left her house on foot and no trace of her has ever been found since. So, did Jaclyn willingly disappear or did something malicious occur? Get listening now and come to your own conclusions!
