My Podcast Addiction Continues!

I decided to do a quick updated list to share six new Podcasts I am loving or have loved (already completed the series) in the last few months. As Podcast series tend to only release one episode a week, you need to have a few “on the go” and that is exactly what I am doing.

All of the Podcasts listed here I listen to via Spotify (as I am a paid account holder) but all are also available on iTunes and other platforms such as SoundCloud or Podbean; a simple search online and you will find them!

1. The Lady Vanishes - By Alison Sandy, Bryan Seymour & Sally Eeles - for 7 News.

This is the Podcast that I am currently addicted to and flying through the episodes, it’s so good! It follows a daughter on her quest to find her mother who vanished 22 years ago. Here is more about this Podcast taken from Acast:

“A much loved mother, teacher and friend steps on a plane for an overseas adventure and is never seen again. Marion Barter, the former wife of Australian soccer great Johnny Warren, went missing in 1997. The circumstances surrounding her disappearance are bizarre.”

Start listening today, you won’t regret it!

2. Culpable: Christian Andreacchio (Season 1) - By Tenderfoot TV, Black Mountain Media & Cadence 13.

A word of warning, this Podcast will make you cry as I discovered while listening to it on an early morning run in Czech Republic.

You can read about this Podcast here and the following Podcast description is taken from there:

“On February 26, 2014, Christian Andreacchio was found dead in the upstairs bathroom of his apartment from a single gunshot wound to the head. After a mere 45-minute investigation, local police ruled his death a suicide, despite substantial evidence that points to Christian’s death not only being a homicide, but premeditated murder. Host Dennis Cooper investigates and shares a compelling story about this suspicious death, the questions surrounding it, and a grieving family’s ongoing fight for justice.”

It is hard to listen to the emotional voices of a family who are trying to come to terms with the untimely death of their beloved son and their frustration with the Police and how they dealt with the case.

I am currently up to date having just listened to episode 7 which was released this week.

3. Man in the Window: The Golden State Killer - By Paige St. John - for Wondery & the L.A. Times.

I am just finished episode 7 of this Podcast and I think that is it! It was hard to stop listening to, so once I started I pretty much binged on this Podcast, listening to one episode after the other.

About this Podcast:

“In Man in the Window, Paige St. John, a Pulitzer Prize winning investigative reporter has uncovered never before revealed details about the man who would eventually become one of California’s most deadly serial killers. From Wondery and the LA Times comes a new series that traces his path of devastation through his victims’ eyes.”

You can also read more about it here.

Please note that this Podcast contains graphic material of a violent and sexual nature.

4. Confronting O.J Simpson with Kim Goldman.

Yet another on-going Podcast for me, I just finished episode 8. I don’t think there are many people who are not in some way familiar with the O.J. Simpson Case. The presenter of this Podcast is Kim Goldman, who’s brother Ron was murdered alongside OJ Simpson’s ex-wife Nicole Simpson, 25 years ago.

In this Podcast Kim Goldman seeks answers and investigates her brothers death while taking the listener along with her:

“…(Kim) sits down with prosecutors, investigators, and witnesses who never got to speak and jurors who voted not guilty. In this 10-part series, Kim takes you on a journey as she reclaims and reflects on the part of her life that was changed permanently.”

5. Maddie - By 9Podcasts.

I raced through this Podcast. I was already familiar with Madeleine McCann’s disappearance however I found the Podcast really interesting as it presented me with a lot of information that I had never heard before and I feel like it provides the listener with many different perspectives and opinions on the case.

The Maddie Podcast:

“… explores what many believe is the well-known story of Madeleine McCann’s disappearance but this is an investigation of the evidence which could make you question everything you thought you knew about the case.”

6. To Live and Die in L.A. - By Neil Strauss - for Tenderfoot TV.

To Live and Die in L.A. investigates the disappearance of Adea Shabani who was only 25 years old when she went missing in L.A. I found some episodes of this Podcast hard to listen to as “suspects” were almost made to prove their innocence rather than being presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Check out the Podcast website here, the following excerpt is taken from it:

“… an aspiring actress and model who vanished without a trace from her apartment complex near Hollywood’s famous Walk of Fame. Last seen in February of 2018, Shabani is a native of Macedonia. Like the thousands who flock to Los Angeles each year, she hoped to realize her Hollywood dream of stardom. What really happened to Adea? The full story has never been told.”

That’s it for now, I off to hunt for some new Podcast Series!
